Yellow Roses

I had some time to stamp this weekend so I started on my January birthday cards.  This is for a co-worker that likes yellow roses.  I used a Studio 112 stamp, Spellbinders labels 4 die, and colored with Copics.  I designed it with several fun challenges in mind:

Teddy Bear Christmas

This sweet image Christmas Bitty Tree Bears is from Meljen's Designs and I knew when I won this digi it would be my husbands Christmas card.  After coloring it with Copics I fussy cut, covered with Versa Mark, covered with Ranger Holographic embossing powdered and embossed, you can see it better on the close-up.  It added just the right amount of sparkle! I used my Cuddlebug dots for the background, and Nesting eyelet square on the K& Company Papers.  Eyelet and ribbons from my stash.  I hope he enjoys his card Christmas morning!

I also want to wish all my blog followers a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year.  Your inspiration through your amazing creations and  your comments on my blog mean so much.  Thank you!

This is a Christmas card I made for a co-worker for her to send out this year.  I used a Hero Arts stamp, poinsettia dry embossing folder, die cut standard circles and nesting doily circles and wired ribbon from Michaels. I am curious what other people charge for cards?  I went with $2.00.

Sketch Saturday DT Call

My name is Donna Thielker I live in the United States and have been stamping for 13 years.
I have been on one design team back in 2011, the Totally Awesome Chicks Design Team, with the Angel Company products.
I would like to join the Sketch Saturday design team as it has been one of my favorite challenges for years.  Sketch Saturday is my go to sketch challenge for creating my work groups birthday cards to keep them unique and special. My style has been describes as a simple, elegant style and I am always experimenting with special folds and various techniques, I also enjoy  Copics  and other coloring methods.  I feel these skills and my motivation to learn and experiment would make me a valuable member of your team.

Cup of Sunshine

This cute digi Cup of Sunshine  from Meljen Designs makes a nice card that can be used for a thank you, birthday or any occasion needed.  I started with a normal A2 card, scored at  4 1/4" and then again at 2 1/8" and formed a mountain fold. Decorate with pattern papers and cut a thin strip of white with an edge punch for interest on the left edge.  Cut out image with die cut of choice, and cut a size larger out of two sided patterned paper.  Assemble as shown. I colored the image with Copic markers.  This would be cute done in Christmas colors too!  A few fun challenges:

Seasons Greetings

Just a few versions of my main Christmas card this year. Much cleaner and simpler than usual as I wanted to be able to work on it in my recliner while recouping from my foot surgery, doing great, back to work next Monday!  I won this Die Versions lovely seasons greetings die cut on a blog hop on Cherish Each Precious Day blog. I used a variety of shimmery papers and a few snowflakes with some bling but this die did not really need much embellishing. I've also seen this on patterned paper, and with poinsettia's below the greeting.
The bottom card is inlaid.  You cut the die out of your card front, save the pieces but set aside the greeting to use another time.  Cut the greeting out of another color cardstock.  Cover a piece of cardstock with adhesive and place on the back of your card front.  Place the new saying on the card front and fill in the spaces with the pieces matching the color of your card front. This makes a lovely card and I want to try this with other dies besides words. !  Thanks Patti for showing me this technique.
Take care all!

Fun Fold

I made this card last month for Bosses Day and the spare was sent to a friend so she would have the pattern.  We spotted a similar card in a little shop browsing after lunch and thought it was cute.  It's always fun to try a new fold or technique.  Sorry I have not posted for awhile and thanks to those that checked on me.  I had minor foot surgery last Monday so am spending my time in the recliner, having major craft room withdrawal.  I did get my Christmas cards cut and stamped before so I can put those together in my recliner, and I am catching up on reading, and blog visiting on my Kindle. I'll try to get another post up in about a week. Take care all!

Autumn

My first time playing with gelato's was at my friend Shirley's, so much fun! I
brought my leaves home (and the white rim left from cutting the leaf out) and she
sent me with this cute patterned paper.  The top  card is going to a friend who brought
her mom home on hospice and the other to my "chemo buddy" as her weekly
card. The fall colors are very bright and cheery here in St. Louis, MO ,
we took a drive last weekend out to wine country in Augusta, MO to enjoy
the view.  Have a good week all!

Fishing

Supplies:  Patterned paper is Provo Craft, Fish digi is from
Vintage Digital Stamps, Fish stamp is TPC Studio.

I made this card for a friends birthday next week. He always smokes fish
that he has caught when his wife and I have a stamping marathon and
it is fabulous, so I wanted a fish themed card for his birthday.  Last
visit he fixed lunch for us too (pastrami and cheese Panini's) that
were fabulous. I pop doted the fish just in the center to make it
look like it was swimming, and could not resist some wink of stella
to make him shimmer!  My dear husband made the hook for me out
of a paper clip.

Alterations embossing folder, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, pattern
paper by TAC, ribbon by Bazzill.

I've seen a card similar to this on Pintrest thought it was darling so  this

Cute Little Acorn

Supplies: Cute Little Acorn digi by Meljen Designs, saying by Darcie's heart & home, pattern paper by American Crafts, Sizziz Tim Holtz Alterations embossing folder, and Spellbinders standard circles die cuts.

My first Fall card!  I did a close up so you could see how I embossed the patchwork background to make it look like a quilt, I was happy with the result.  I hope everyone had a good weekend and at least a little time for creating.

Sunset

Another previously uninked stamp, sadly it does not have a name or
stamp company on it.  I had been wanting to play with the technique where
you scribble on an acrylic block with water color markers, mist with water
and stamp. My Tim Holtz markers were perfect for this.  I embossed my
image and like how that gave it some dimension. Splitcoast stampers
just added a tutorial today on a similar background with alcohol markers
with a marbled effect, looking forward to trying that.

Gorgeous Grunge

Gorgeous Grunge was the next stamp from my pile of uninked stamps that I choose to play with second.  The reddish pink layer is vellum, and the gold was stamped on the white layer underneath as it needed some depth and color.  Butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch and I added the black layer on the bottom for a bit of added color and to tie the black butterflies in. I do not do much abstract so this was a challenge and a lot of fun.  This set was an early Christmas present from my friend Shirley after we made the gray, yellow and black card below from the same set at her house and I really liked the set. It can be used so many ways.
